Kunst Meran, in cooperation with the Architecture Foundation of South Tyrol and the South Tyrolean Artists’ Association, presents the new stage of the exhibition project New Architecture in South Tyrol 2018–2024. Following its successful presentation in Merano, the exhibition will be shown from May 10, 2025, under the international title ALPS. ARCHITECTURE. SOUTH TYROL. at the historic Palazzo Cavanis in Venice, parallel to the Biennale Architettura 2025.
The architecture exhibition ALPS. ARCHITECTURE. SOUTH TYROL. documents, through selected projects, the process of cultural development in building in South Tyrol and narrates the most recent architectural history of the Alpine region from 2018 to 2024. The selection was made by an international jury consisting of Arch. Filippo Bricolo (IT, curator), Arch. Annette Spiro (CH), and Arch. Elisa Valero Ramos (ES).
The exhibition focuses in particular on the central question formulated by Bricolo: Does a specifically South Tyrolean architecture exist, and what defines it? Instead of providing a definitive answer, the selected works open one of many possible perspectives on the architectural development of the region.
