A limited Art Plaid Edition – for your home, as a gift, to cherish.

Arte Mio is the fusion of contemporary art with an everyday object that gives us warmth and comfort. In collaboration with the South Tyrolean bedding manufacturer DaunenStep, an exclusive series of 125 Art Plaids is being created – each one a tactile artwork, something to touch, something that gently wraps around the body.

Five artists – Elisa Alberti, Kira Kessler, Elisabeth Oberrauch, Anuschka Prossliner, and Sabine Steinmair – have each translated one of their works into a textile form and designed a limited edition of only 25 blankets. Painterly color fields, graphic rhythms, delicate lines, fragments of memory, and poetic metaphors become fabric, warmth, and touch.

The Art Plaids are made of 100% cotton and high-quality down. An integrated fabric pouch transforms the 105 × 160 cm blanket into a compact cushion that keeps the artwork visible.

The project is accompanied by 15 black-and-white photographs by Karin Schmuck. Body and fabric interact in a tension between presence and withdrawal: hands grasp, support, conceal, while the face disappears behind the soft material.
