la fine non è la fine

Arianna Moroder's artistic approach is based on the principle that transforming materials into functional or meaningful objects is a fundamental human trait. Inspired by ancient techniques such as weaving and modeling, she studies a wide variety of materials and processes, both artisanal and industrial. In doing so, she sensitively combines different manufacturing methods and reveals the deep connections between human relationships with materials and universal aspects of human existence.

During her artist residency at the Cité des Arts international in Paris in 2023, Moroder experienced an intense creative phase in which she experimented with paper, clay, and printing. The works on display in the exhibition reflect this process and invite visitors to enter her personal world. The exhibition “The Paris Syndrome – an investigation on material, process and chance” comprises installation objects made of paper, textile, and clay, which integrate autobiographical elements as well as found objects that have been reworked. The works open a portal behind which a multi-layered reading experience unfolds.

In the exhibition “the end is not the end,” Gino Alberti presents a series of his significant large-format charcoal drawings on paper. The focus is on mountain and seascapes as axes of his life's journey, which tell of limitations and broken horizons. The large-format depictions are accentuated by ironic and poetic verbal gestures. The exhibition is complemented by monochrome drawings in which thoughts and experiences from everyday life are put down on paper with ink. A three-dimensional paper object completes the exhibition.

Gino Alberti explores with wonder and contemplation the infinity of creation, the vastness of the sea without visible boundaries. This seemingly endless expanse can represent our ongoing search for meaning and discovery in life. Humans often try to overcome their own limitations by exploring unknown territories, and the boundless sea can symbolize this longing for the infinite. (Chiara Franceschini)
