Discover grafics - Workshops for children and teenagers
As part of the exhibition Spitzfindigkeiten, the Südtiroler Künstlerbund invites children and young people to two hands-on graphic arts workshops at SKB ARTES. Participants will have the opportunity to discover and explore various traditional printing techniques, try them out themselves and create their own prints.
The workshops will take place directly in the exhibition at SKB ARTES, Weggensteinstraße 12A in Bolzano, and will each begin with a short guided tour of the exhibition.
GRAPHIC ARTS WORKSHOP FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL CHILDREN
Monotype on Plexiglas & material printing on aluminium board
Wednesday, 14 October 2026 | 3–6 pm
Together with artists Monika Fiechter Rossi and Margaretha Pertoll, the children will discover and explore two different graphic printing techniques.
For monotype printing on Plexiglas, printing ink is applied to the Plexiglas plate with a roller and then worked with stencils and various spatulas. The image is subsequently transferred onto dampened paper using an etching press.
For material printing on aluminium board, adhesive strips and adhesive films are applied to the aluminium board. For safety reasons, the children create their drawing on the board using a ballpoint pen instead of an engraving tool. The plate is then inked for both intaglio and relief printing and printed onto dampened paper using an etching press.

GRAPHIC ARTS WORKSHOP FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS
Linocut printing
Wednesday, 21 October 2026 | 3–6 pm
Under the guidance of artist Lucia Nardelli, the children will learn the technique of linocut printing. They will create their own linoleum printing plate, apply ink using a roller and then make a hand-pulled print on dry paper.
Maximum number of participants: 10 children
Participation fee: €15 per child
Please bring: apron or old shirt, pencil, eraser and child-safe scissors

The participating artists of the exhibition will be present during the workshops and support the children as they work and experiment.
All materials, paper and printing inks will be provided.
Registration
Registration is possible until 5 October 2026 at midnight. As the number of participants is limited to 10 children per workshop for technical reasons, prior registration is required.
