Elisa Alberti
Intuition and System
Exhibition & Book Presentation
September 4, 2025, 6:30 PM | SKB ARTES
Exhibition duration:
September 5 – September 25, 2025
The artist Elisa Alberti presents new works on canvas in various formats at SKB ARTES. Her works are characterized by clear lines, a reduced formal language, and a soft, mostly monochrome color palette. In addition to paper, wood, and canvas, Alberti increasingly works with sculptural elements made of aluminum.
Her compositions follow geometric principles—perfect semicircles, curved lines, as well as horizontally and vertically placed stripes—that oscillate between surface and structure, intuition and system. The exhibition title refers precisely to this field of tension. As part of the opening, a conversation will take place between the artist and art critic Nina Schedlmayer. She writes about Alberti’s work: “When teardrop-shaped elements nestle against each other or a form turns multiple times, an immense visual dynamism emerges.” On the occasion of the presentation, Alberti’s new catalogue will also be published, offering a comprehensive insight into her work of recent years. In addition, two limited edition screen prints in the catalogue format have been produced, which will be presented for the first time during the exhibition.
Elisa Alberti, born in 1992 in Kiel and raised in Brunico (South Tyrol), studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Gunter Damisch and Christian Schwarzwald. She lives and works in Vienna.
