The Südtiroler Künstlerbund has designated TEXTILE as its central theme for
2027, focusing on textile practices as material, medium, and a subject of
social discourse.
Textiles are far more than just materials: they carry history and memory,
address questions of identity and the body, connect traditional craftsmanship
with social and technological developments, and open up a broad field for
contemporary artistic exploration.
The focus is on artistic positions that engage with, develop, transform, or
critically question textile materials, techniques, structures, production
processes, and ways of thinking.
As part of the annual theme, two independent exhibition projects, among
others, will be realised in 2027, each with its own spatial and curatorial focus:
