OPEN ANONYMOUS TWO-STAGE ART IN ARCHITECTURE ARTIST COMPETITION
DESIGN OF THE INTERIOR OF THE FELDTHURNER CEMETERY CHAPEL
Art competition Feldthurner cemetery chapel
The South Tyrolean Artists' Association is coordinating an open, anonymous, two-stage art in architecture competition on behalf of the organisers, the Parish of Maria Himmelfahrt Feldthurns, for the artistic redesign of the interior of the cemetery chapel in Feldthurns. The chapel is to be enhanced through targeted lighting and artistic interventions in order to create an inviting atmosphere for reflection and farewell. Natural and artificial light sources are to be harmoniously combined to enhance the space and underline its spiritual significance. The aim is to create a place of peace and remembrance that can be used both individually and communally.
Subject of the design
- Skylight window, roof soffit, lighting design, mobile covering for the Lourdes grotto.
- Optional: entrance area, large side arched window.
Participation for
- Professional South Tyrolean artists or those who have been resident in South Tyrol for at least 3 years (collectives also welcome).
Important dates
- Site visit to the Feldthurns cemetery chapel: 17 February 2025
- Submission phase 1: by 13 April 2025
- Announcement of the 5 finalists phase 1: 18 April 2025
- Submission phase 2: by 27 June 2025
- Colloquium of Phase 2 finalists: 2 July 2025 (Bolzano)
- Implementation of the design: by 31 October 2025
- Inauguration of the interior: 1 November 2025
