PERMA.KULT Video, sound and lecture performance by André Hinderlich and ensemble chromoson
Permaculture – a sustainable and alternative ecological farming method that counteracts the principles of monoculture. Permaculture offers an answer to the capitalism of ever-increasing consumption and the relentless exploitation of our planet's resources.
PERMA.KULT – or becoming someone else or something else through something else or someone else
In his lecture performance, performer André Hinderlich examines fragments of his own biography and professional identity on a second level. In doing so, he explores the question of how one's own identity is linked to the historical cultural and natural conditions of a society. Hinderlich also explores how various materials, rather than humans, can be made to ‘speak’.
Hinderlich presents a kind of cartography, found material, including audiovisual documents (also interview material with permaculture practitioners). Hinderlich is supported by the ensemble chromoson: composer Hannes Kerschbaumer, percussionist Philipp Lamprecht and clarinettist Silárd Benes. On a tonal level, the three musicians reflect elements of connection, coexistence and juxtaposition using improvisational and electronically supported means.
