The red boat on a journey

The bright red boat belonging to the Pragser Wildsee Experience Association now stands on the square in front of Neustift Abbey as a memorial against violence against women.

‘The Red Boat: Artists Against Violence Against Women’ is a social art project by the South Tyrolean Artists' Association and the Pragser Wildsee Experience Association in collaboracial Advisory Board for Equal Opportunities. This important project brought together the works of 18 South Tyrolean artists who have addressed the issue. The winntion with the Provining project, ‘Floating Angel’ by Indra Moroder, is an impressive short video filmed at Lake Braies with the iconic red boat. An exclusive set of art cards was also developed to complement the project. 18 art cards present the works of the participating artists. The Female Empowerment campaign is sponsored by the South Tyrolean Sparkasse Foundation.

From 10 March to 12 April 2025, ‘The Red Boat – Artists Against Violence Against Women’ will be presented at the Bildungshaus Kloster Neustift. The vernissage will take place on Friday, 14 March at 5.15 p.m. at the Bildungshaus Kloster Neustift.
